so many things have happened within these two months or so that it seems bizarre when I come to think of it. First there was my enlistment day which remains intact in my memory. Then came along the tough training throughout the whole of BMT. Just a week ago I collected my A level results. And now I have already 'graduated' from BMT and waiting for my posting to see which unit I'm heading next. I cannot put each and every emotion I felt throughout this two months into one blog entry but I can say that all that I have gone through has contributed to my transformation to become a more mature person.

Lets start from where I left off the other time. After all the guerilling training like field camp, sit test, 24Km road march (which was a total psycho activity), the next major event was the release of the A level results. I cannot even describe how I was feeling the previous day and throughout the whole of the actual day itself. It felt as though I was going to explode from within. All the anxiety and excitement is just waiting to get out but at the same time there was this lingering sense of fear. I guess it is the accumulation of all the anxiety to perform well and meet up to expectation hence I am feeling the way I am. As you would know, my results since year 1 has never been fantastic, in fact quite the opposite. So this exam is where I make it or break it.

Before the announcement of the results, Ms Lai looked disappointed and even Ms Quek didn't seem impress. That scare the hell out of me. I was feeling like a gone case already. The excitement simply couldn't be contained. I wanted to see my results yet could not pluck up the courage to approach Ms Quek to collect the cert. Finally I did but I refuse to turn over the cert till minutes later. I took a deep breath and turned it over. Let me tell you, the feeling is beyond words. I could either freak out and flip out anytime. I took a peek at the results and my heart dropped. I passed. In fact passed beyond what I was expecting. quite well I should say. I've obtained a A B B. I mean I was prepared for the worst but I don't have to face the worst.

I obtained an A -Economics, which was totally surprising because I have never ever gone beyond a F or an O even till prelims. I have lots to thank Ms Quek for even though she scared me with her unimpressed face (after that Ms K told us she was so happy for us she almost cried in the staff room). overall, I am so glad I did well for econs. History and Literature were both Bs which was good as well because previously my results for these two subjects were very unstable. But now I did it. Who would have thought that I could get B for history. I never in my life imagine that I can do history and pass with a B. It was amazing. I am proud of myself and I have lots of people to thank especially Mr Pang who never gave up on me despite my lack of talent in history. The lit teachers, Mr Wee, Ms Kalidas, Ms Rehana who have continuously put in the effort to push our grades beyond the current ones. They are great teachers and I am appraciative to have them as my lecturers.

Only regret is that I did not manage an A in both GP and Chinese. Especially Chinese which I am still sour over. But I guess I have to learn to be contented and realise that I need to brush up on these two subjects in order to perform better the next time round.

Now that I have got the results, time to select the universities and courses which I intend to take. It gives me headache everytime I think about it. I am hoping to apply for scholarship so as to ease the financial burden on my family. Currently I see myself going to a local university even though I would love to go overseas. But I'll apply for scholarship first before everything else. One step at a time I guess. Wish me luck.

7 Mar was my Passing Out Parade day. We got to invite our parents and love ones to watch us pass out of BMT. Sadly, my Dad could not make it for the parade as he was working in Taiwan. But nevermind at least my Mum and Aunt were there. It was a defining moment when my Mum put on my jockey cap for me and also when we threw our caps high into the sky. All these months of training just for this day. I took a lot of pictures with my friends, officers and sergeants. They are actually very very nice people which I am bless to meet. I can say that my BMT experience was memorable because of these people. I hope to keep in touch with all of them and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.

Next, I have 12 days of block leave to slack and enjoy before the posting result comes out. I have a band audition in another 7 hours time and hopefully I can get into band if I don't make it into command school. I rather not do 'chiong sua' as a men in unit if given a choice. I better get some sleep before the audition tmr. Wish me luck...
