Friday, December 30

I have been out these few days and sometimes I am not even home to sleep. For example, two days ago, I just had BBQ with the band people at East Coast and it was cool because all of us got to hang around and have fun. We also managed to set up a really strong fire which aided the BBQ. Everything went well and we camped overnight over there. The whole experience was good but tiring and I woke up the next day a walking zombie. looking damn dishevelled.

(this happened yesterday) Took a short nap before meeting up with Andy at 12.30pm which I turned up late. Darn. We were going out to make a birthday card for Melvin's coming birthday. So we spent the entire day combing orchard area for the materials.

When it was 6pm I had to leave to meet Desmond. It was awesome to meet up with him as I have not seen him for quite some time. lots of things to catch up on. And so we had dinner and stuff which we spend at Swesen (Over 2 hours). I showed him my photos taken at Japan. After which we walked along orchard to get the bloating feeling away and stopping here and there to take photos. Funny cause it looked really weird as people were moving and we were stopping in the middle of the road to take pictures. But anyway the pictures turn out well. hopefully we have chance to meet up again.

which reminds me, I have yet to put up a post on my Japan trip. Darn. gotta do it soon. patience ppl. sorry for the delay as well.

I'm screwed. have been spending money like nobody's business. I feel kind of guilty because I am not spending my own money but my parent's and it feels as though I am such a spoilt brat. Even though they do not say anything but I feel bad. Yet I can't help it because I have only 10 days before I bid goodbye to freedom.

Currently, I am feeling the pressure of it all weighing on me. Having read/ heard accounts of close friends who have been hauled into NS and stuff, it is unlikely one will not feel anything about it. Honestly, I am quite scared now. I am worried about the company I will have there. The life I will lead there. The pains and hassle I will experience there. I cannot picture myself fitting into such a situation. Sigh. difficult to find someone talk to now that everyone is busy with their own stuff. Well, too bad, sometimes in life you've gotta rough it out and bear the pain all by yourself. I just tell myself to look on the positive side of it all, think of it as a the start of the end. It is finally happening and will definitely end soon.

Can't get to sleep. disoriented. I drown myself in many activites everyday to stop myself from thinking about next thursday. It is coming and I know it. It will be the start of every subsequent event. From now on, everything is about to change. for better or for worse, no one knows. I'll just keep my fingers cross.

Christmas Eve. this is a special day where people come out for gathering and have fun as they welcome the arrival of Christmas day itself. As for me, I was fortunate to be able to spend this Christmas eve with someone whom I've never seen for quite some time. It may have been a short period of time we have not seen each other face to face but a lot had happened and it was definitely cool to meet up again to update one another on our progress thus far.

We spent the dinner at NYDC and chat non stop even as we dine simply because there were so many things to talk about. Her university life, her social life, my post exam activities and etc. All of which seem to be endless once we start talking about it. It feels as if we had not seen each other for a decade or so and have so much to talk about. Dinner was great but dessert was even better. We had our dessert at this classy cafe and continued with our conversation. The atmosphere in the cafe was just lovely for friends to meet up and have a little chit-chat session. We also exchanged presents and reveal the surprise we had for each other. I guess exchanging presents during festive seasons like this just makes the meaning and value of the present more momentous.

So after dessert we decided to drop by Esplanade hoping that some huge party was going to take place there. But apparently not, the people were sitting around gazing at stars and listening to sow music put up by a band. So we sat by the river at watched people moving around. Then we got bored of it and decided to go to orchard where the atmosphere is totally different. Arriving at somerset was the start of our intense marathon to the Wheelock place (we were supposedly going to meet Justin and gang who wanted to go to k-box). Anyway, i can only say that the place is "freaking crowded la". I have never been so squashed up in my entire life. Pushing and being attacked by spray cans from all over the place. It felt like some major riot was going to happen. But still it was an experience. Both of us tried to stay close to one another, fearing that we might get lost in the crowd. When we did got out of the crowd (at least to a less crowded and "mobile" place), we could feel more relief. So after the amazing human sandwich, we finally met up with Justin and gang. They loitered around after knowing that K-Box was going to raise its price to $28 and triple plus somemore to exploit its potential consumers. So after wondering for an hour or so (I have no idea how we can do that), we decided to go home. It took another hour to just find a cab (and we had to call to book one somemore). Then we all got to our home much to our relief as we put an end to this christmas celebration.

And not forgetting the person whom I spent my wonderful christmas with, thank you Serena for this special evening. Keep in touch and hopefully we will meet up soon. Smilez.

Thursday, December 22

These few weeks have been amazing. I have never been so kept occupied in my life. it is one event after another. chalets, prom night, going overseas (band competition at Genting, visiting Japan), BBQs and so on. I am just so glad there are things keeping my occupied after the exams and I can say I truly enjoy these post-exam activities.

first of all, there was prom night which was cool because you get to see your school mates grow up before your eyes. Everyone turned up so formally dressed that it seems weird looking at them. I couldn't recognise some of them on first glance. Nonetheless the whole event was cool and marks the official graduation from school. here are some pictures..

Immediately after prom, I had to leave home for school next morning and i'm going with the band to Genting for competition. I reached home at 2am or so and I have yet to pack my stuff for tomorrow which I am suppose to report at 6am. Darn. So I spent some time packing and took a short nap before leaving for school.

Over at Genting, it was quite cold but bearable so I could still walk around in t-shirt. The competition which we had been preparing for passed very shortly and we felt we did our best. But Ms Sia warned us about the worse. The rest of the day dragged on as we anticipate the results. We were prepared for the worse but it soon revealed that we had clinched the "Gold" award which was the highest attainable. But sadly we lost to Orchid Park Sec Sch due to our 5% penalty which was quite unfairly slapped on us because it was purely a miscommunication on the organisers side and we had to bear the blame. But nonetheless, the closing ceremony revealed allt eh penalties and scores which gave a clear idea how we would have easily be the top band had it not be for the penalty. The judges also decided to moderate all the scores so that the Gold bands would move up to the "Gold with Distinction" medal and so on. We enjoyed the rest of our trip, watching movies, sneaking out after lights out and going to the theme park. here are some pictures..

alright. that's all before i leave for Japan. Will blog about the Japan trip another day. lots of photos to put up.. till we meet again..

Sunday, December 4

its an hour more to go before prom. I'm all dressed up and ready to go.. All this while preparing for prom. splurging money like turning on the tap. Sigh. Kinda guilty. But I hope it will be cool tonight. Think it will be fun seeing everyone dress their best and gather for the last time before we move on with our individual stuff. it is barely two weeks after a levels and it just feels so long when I look back at my last paper. Post A level period is amazing. you feel relieved and excited but there are too many things for you to do leaving you not knowing which to start with. I am just so glad I am enjoying my last month before I surrender my freedom just like Joel. Every time I talk about him, it feels very sad because I have no idea how he is now since he went into army on 2 Dec. Hope he is doing fine. And I am not sure whether he will turn up at prom tonight although i really hope to see him. Anyway just wanna wish him good luck and stay strong inside and I'll be joining him real soon.

After tonight, I will have to pack my stuff for genting trip tomorrow with the band. I am looking forward to the trip with all the band members because we are as close as a family and it will definitely be fun to go overseas together, even though it may not be for fun but we can still have fun during band rehearsals. I feel so guilty for not having pack my stuff early. And I have yet to pack my stuff to leave for Japan immediately after I come back to Singapore from Genting. Darn. sigh. I better not sleep tonight and get some things packed properly. I am so looking forward to going to Japan. it is a dream country that I always wanted to visit. probably the only one in Asia. I can't imagine what I will see or do there. Everything is packed so closely that I have little time to do other stuff. guess I will only hang out with my friends after I come back from Japan.

I was in fact glad Khong Chin held a BBQ yesterday and gathered a few of the sec sch friends. It was no big thing but I felt really glad to see those friends because we've been busy with our own stuff for 2 years and this is the first time I am seeing some of them so it was quite comforting to know that they are doing fine on their own. Must thank Khong Chin for that. Alright. guess I have to go off. meeting Eugene to take a cab to Fullerton. See ya.
